I assume you take notes all day using a laptop. with class being 8-5 all day, are you able to charge your laptop? I would find it hard considering you’re in a big room with 200+ppl and only so many outlets.
yeah, lots of people print out the lectures, but I just use onenote. Its such a great program, type right on the slides, different notebooks for different semesters, gets rid of all the paper that I would be using. Make sure to keep all the notes, you need them for boards and to look up things you have forgotten from previous semesters. If its not too late, dont waste money on some big laptop. Its amazing how many people switch to netbooks during D2 year. You dont need a laptop with any of the reqs the ITS people posted. Just something to surf the web and take notes. ALso battery life is key. There are no where near enough outlets in the lecture halls. Do yourself a favor and buy an extended battery.
You have a great dental blog. Thank you for sharing your experience with the pre-dental world..lol…I noticed in your blog that basically the course materials are presented on powerpoint and that seems to be the only resource of information to study (and your notes as well). Do you use the Vitalbook DVD to study at all? Do you like it or is it a waste of money?
Oh thanks for the compliment. I just havent been able to update as much as I would like. We have 4 major exams in 2 weeks along woth lab and all these mandatory classes, it is an unbelievable work load.
To answer your question, I used vitalbook only for anatomy to look up photos and what not. Thats it. it is beyond useless. All exam materials come from lectures. It is a huuuuuge waste of money. Too bad its not optional.
geez….midterms in like mid summer….NJDS started a month ago…but damn did it start hard we have so many clases ortho, implants, fixed, operative, compelte detnures 2, clinical dentistry…so much work…good luck man…hope this year goes well for you

Yeah, its pretty brutal second year. I didnt realize how much worse it is than first year. Labs are so brutal. Best of luck to you too.
For all you NYUCDers, second year is just horrible. Enjoy first year while you can.
